What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is simply hypnosis used with therapeutic intent in a way designed to help you change behaviours and habits, unlock your potential, solve your own problems and find the answers that work for you. Therefore, while the principals are the same, hypnotherapy is very different from hypnosis as you have seen it on the TV because of why and how it is used. And you remain in control at all times.
Because of the integrity and intent behind it, hypnotherapy is a gentle yet powerful process which uses the hypnotic state and psychological understanding to encourage change at the unconscious level. It is helpful for you to work more directly with your unconscious mind because it knows a lot more than you do and is often the source of most our problems. Not because it has done anything wrong, but because along the way we learn through experiences that don’t always teach us the right things. By speaking directly to the unconscious mind, we can often make changes at a deeper level.
Remember, hypnotherapy is simply hypnosis used with therapeutic intent but, it is important to understand that hypnotherapy does not offer miracle cures. We will work together to help you achieve what you want but I do not ‘fix’ you as all the changes and all the work, are done by you.
With Hypnotherapy we can work with our unconscious minds to:
- find out why we are behaving in certain ways find out what we really need and want
- find better ways to meet our needs, or resolve the need altogether
- help us see the world as it is, and not just as we are.
